The Jade Way is the second dungeon in Recettear and contains new items, the best of which will likely be superior to anything currently available.

Unlocking[]

To unlock this dungeon you must first beat The Hall of Trials. There is no announcement, the dungeon is revealed immediately upon returning to the Adventurer's Guild.

Dungeon Crawling[]

At this point in the game your only adventurer will be Louie and you are restricted to a maximum of 20 items. The Jade Way is spread over 15 floors and can be viewed as an introduction to the world of dungeon delving. Every 5 levels there will be a boss, and only after defeating this boss may the adventurer choose to go back to town or continue in the dungeon. Unless you are very confident or well equipped it is advisable to return to town at 10F. Bringing Armor or Food from town can help quite a bit if you want to clear this dungeon in one go.

Bosses[]

Floor Boss Level HP Drops (common, rare)
5F The Crowned Slime (x1) 5 180 Slime Liver , Slime Stone
10F Reginald Drisby (v1) 7 330 Charred Lizard , Tail
15F Charme 10 280 Booze of the World, Handknit Muffler

Ingredient Farming Notes[]

Due to the low level of enemies, very few good quality ingredients are dropped. At this stage in the game you are likely to be saving inventory space for the real loot, especially as a lot of the ingredients are unknown until you have a higher Merchant Level.

  • Charred Lizards are dropped by Reginald Drisby as well as Thrower Gnolls in this dungeon and create one of the most profitable Level 1 Fusion items.
  • Fur Balls are required in huge amounts for high level fusions, while they may take up valuable inventory space it may be a good idea to plan for the future. (Only useful if you are trying to complete the Item Encyclopedia, as fusions play little role in paying back the debt).
  • This dungeon is a source of all 3 items required to satisfy Caillou's order. Charred Lizards from Reginald Drisby or Thrower Gnolls, Slime Liver from the Crowned Slime, and Bat Wings from the Eyebats.

Chest Contents[]

A table of items that can be found in chests in this dungeon by level they were discovered. An asterisk after an item indicates that the item cannot be purchased.
