Fusion

At certain Merchant Levels, the guild will offer to fuse ingredients collected from dungeons into powerful new items that can be used to strengthen Adventurers or sold for a hefty amount of pix.

After reaching a high enough Merchant Level, the guild can fuse normal items.

It is advisable for the player to sell the new items to Adventurers, but sometimes the resulting fusion is a component for a later fusion, so keeping track of what to sell and what to keep is important.

Fusion Information

• The +x (e.g. Void Crystal +2) of components are added together to create the + of the final item, up to a maximum of +15.
• The +x of a piece of equipment is added directly to the highest stat of that item.
  • For example, a +5 sword will have 5 more ATK than a regular sword of the same type.
  • For another example: Despite both being equipment of the Necklace type, Rune Amulet adds its bonus to DEF, while Azure Necklace adds its bonus to MDEF. This is due to the items having different stats as their highest.
  • Rings do not add their +Bonus to any stat.
• The +x of a piece of decoration is added directly to the highest Atmosphere value of that item.
  • For example, a +5 Celebratory Wallpaper will have 5 more Gaudiness than a regular wallpaper of that item, as its natural Gaudiness value is greater than its Lightness.
• The +x of Food adds +20% effectiveness per bonus point, based on the original item. A +15 bonus thus translates into 4 times the effect. So a Walnut Bread heals 10HP with no bonuses, 20HP at +5, and 40HP at +15.
• Fusion will use the best components supplied first, even if the bonus is already over 15. For this reason, it is more efficient to use smaller recipes first, since this minimizes the waste.
• In order to use lesser components for fusion first, one can stock the better components in vending machines or counters before visiting the Merchant's Guild.
• All recipes in this list are taken from Recettear v1.108 (English version).

Ranks

Recipes are separated in ranks. Each rank is unlocked upon reaching a certain Merchant Level:

In general, Fusion rank 2 and above items are better than those purchased in town.

Aside from the Jet Boots, adventurer equipment aren't made in rank 3 fusions.

Most of the time, items made in rank 4 fusions are components of rank 5 fusions.

"Profit" refers to the gain in base price when the ingredients are fused (in pix). Profit rate refers to the amount gained (Profit/Fused item value) in percentage.

Tips & Tricks

• Always save before fusing items. This way you can always re-load if you fused an item you did not intend to or if the resulting item does not have the intensity (+X) you were aiming for.

• When fusing the ingredients/items with the maximum bonus (+X) are always used first. If you want to save your best ingredients for other items, place the items you wish to save in a vending machine in your shop. This removes them from your inventory. However, be careful to take them out of the vending machine BEFORE you open the shop again or you may risk selling those items.

• When you acquire new equipment from a dungeon do not be too hasty to sell it to your adventurers. Most often the really good dungeon items can be used to craft even more powerful weapons. Before selling ingredients/fusion items, always check to make sure you do not need them to craft something else.

• No matter how valuable an ingredient or piece of dungeon loot may seem, it's always better to stock up on ingredients for fusion than selling it off for some quick pix, even if this means you won't be able to make the next payment in story mode.
